Happy Halloween!

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a success for our Reed community. Parents, you continue to amaze me! We had more families join us to celebrate and enjoy the festivities than I can remember. The parade was wonderful, and the kids absolutely beamed in their costumes.

Thank you to our volunteers today who helped with stations, rotations, and all of the fun that was happening throughout the building.

Have a safe and happy Halloween, and enjoy the weekend! 🎃

Today we said "farewell" to Ms. Rose. As a school community, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Rose for her many years of dedication and service to Reed and the Kuna School District.

Throughout her time with us, Ms. Rose has served in a variety of capacities and made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families through her hard work, kindness, personal relationships and commitment to our school community.

As she begins this exciting new chapter in retirement, we wish Ms. Rose all the best. Her positive influence and care will continue to be felt for years to come. Congratulations, Ms. Rose—you will always be part of the Reed family!

Once a Cheetah, Always a Cheetah!

Red Ribbon Week at Reed

We had a wonderful week celebrating Red Ribbon Week and focusing on the importance of making healthy choices! Students enjoyed participating in our spirit dress-up days and took part in activities that encouraged them to make positive, healthy decisions every day.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to promote wellness and healthy habits at school and at home!

Día de los Muertos Celebration – Dual Language Classes

As we head into the weekend, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is upon us! Our dual language classes have been learning about the cultural traditions and significance of this special celebration.

Día de los Muertos is a day that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed away. It is a joyful celebration of life, filled with music, color, food, and family traditions. Students have been exploring the symbols and customs associated with the holiday—such as ofrendas (altars), calaveras (decorative skulls), and cempasúchil (marigold flowers)—to better understand its meaning and importance in many Latin American cultures.

We will celebrate together in our dual language classrooms on Monday, continuing our learning through art, stories, and cultural activities.

We look forward to sharing in this meaningful and beautiful tradition with our students!

Crosswalk Use

For the safety of all our students, please use the crosswalk when crossing the street or from the parking lot to the sidewalk. Kindly wait for the duty staff and the crossing light before crossing.

We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for being a positive example for our students!

Picking Up Students Early

Just a friendly reminder....

If you need to pick up your child early, please call the office by 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and by 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.

This allows us enough time to locate your child, as schedules often change throughout the day and students may be in specials, recess, or other activities. Calling ahead ensures your child is ready and waiting when you arrive.

Thank you for your cooperation and helping us keep dismissal smooth and safe for all students!

Cooler Weather Reminder

As the cooler weather settles in, please be sure to send your child to school dressed in layers to keep them comfortable throughout the day. Mornings can be chilly, but classrooms and afternoons often warm up.

Also, we kindly ask that you label your child’s coats, jackets, and outerwear with their name. This helps us return lost items quickly and keeps our lost-and-found from overflowing.

Thank you for your help in keeping everyone warm, comfortable, and organized!

AVID and Thinking Maps: Tools for Organizing Our Thinking

Our students continue to use Thinking Maps to organize their ideas and deepen their understanding. While our school used Thinking Maps before becoming an AVID school, these strategies connect perfectly with AVID’s focus on organization, notetaking, and critical thinking.

Through Thinking Maps, students visually plan their thoughts, make connections, and prepare for writing or discussions—skills that support effective notetaking and lifelong learning. Together, AVID and Thinking Maps help students become more confident, organized thinkers and learners!
