World Kindness Day is coming up on Wednesday, November 13, and it’s a great reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. This week, we’re encouraging all students to focus on kindness — in their words, their actions, and the way they treat others.
Being kind doesn’t have to be a big gesture. It can be as simple as offering a compliment, helping a classmate, or including someone who’s sitting alone. Think before you speak, and choose words that lift others up instead of bringing them down.
Let’s work together to make our school a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported — not just on World Kindness Day, but every day.
Challenge of the Week:
Find three opportunities to show kindness — to a friend, a teacher, and someone you don’t know well. You might be surprised how far one kind act can go!

This week, we proudly recognize Ms. Bailey Patterson, our dedicated school psychologist at Reed, in honor of National School Psychologist Week. Ms. Patterson consistently goes above and beyond to connect with students and families, collaborate with staff, and provide meaningful ideas, resources, and services that support our students’ academic and emotional growth. We are grateful for her expertise, compassion, and commitment to our school community.

For the safety of all our students, please use the crosswalk when crossing the street or from the parking lot to the sidewalk. Kindly wait for the duty staff and the crossing light before crossing.
We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for being a positive example for our students!

As part of AVID our students are learning the importance of setting and working toward personal goals. At school, they’re identifying academic and personal goals, creating action plans, and reflecting on their progress.
Families can support this process at home by talking with students about their goals, celebrating small successes, and helping them think through next steps when challenges arise.
Together, we’re helping our students build confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong habit of goal setting and reflection!

Just a friendly reminder....
If you need to pick up your child early, please call the office by 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and by 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.
This allows us enough time to locate your child, as schedules often change throughout the day and students may be in specials, recess, or other activities. Calling ahead ensures your child is ready and waiting when you arrive.
Thank you for your cooperation and helping us keep dismissal smooth and safe for all students!
|
As the cooler weather settles in, please be sure to send your child to school dressed in layers to keep them comfortable throughout the day. Mornings can be chilly, but classrooms and afternoons often warm up.
Also, we kindly ask that you label your child’s coats, jackets, and outerwear with their name. This helps us return lost items quickly and keeps our lost-and-found from overflowing.
Thank you for your help in keeping everyone warm, comfortable, and organized!
